Is there a God? | Who am I? | What is the purpose of life?
Why is the world the way it is?
| Is Jesus the Messiah? |
Is this all there is?
Is This All
There Is?
We
must remember that the world we are now living in is a fallen world. This is
not the world that God created for us to live in, this
is the world our sin has produced. But the day is coming as God promised when
the earth as we know it and its atmospheric heavens will be purged by fire
cleansing it of the effects of sin, decay and death and a new heaven and a new
earth will be erected on its foundations which will exist forever in perfection
with God in our niidst. ( 2
Peter 3:10-13). Those who live on this new earth will likewise be cleansed from
the effects of sin and decay and death.
But
there are entrance requirements for reservations in this new heaven and new
earth and they are not man-made but are instructions given by God in His
revelation the Bible. Acts 4:12 tells us "neither is there salvation in
any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we
must be saved". Jesus stated "...I am the way, the truth and the life.- no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John
14:6). "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God"
(John 1:12-13). "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3:5).
Our
sin has separated us from God and the ONLY way to be reconciled is through the
work of Jesus Christ on
"For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). There
is NOTHING we can do to earn salvation, it is a free gift. The Holy Spirit
convinces us of this truth, convicts us of this truth and converts us from
sinners to saints. We become "born again" or "born from
above" and repent or turn from our sinful ways and turn to the ways of
righteousness (John 3:3; 2 Timothy 2-25b).
Personal
faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as the Savior of the world is the
way by which salvation is received. God justifies us on the basis of the work
of Jesus on the cross and this was proved by Jesus' resurrection from the dead.
There is more to life than what we see day by day,
there is a future for everyone. To those who trust in Jesus eternal life, to
those who trust in themselves or in others eternal damnation in hell. Hell is a
tribute to our human freedom to choose whom we would serve. Our decisions in
this world do have consequences. This is the truth of the Scriptures.
